Just the Start
You see I like to talk about the human condition
The twists and turns, the utter gut of what we call intuition
To be more ourselves, for some that’s dangerous as hell
Our very life force called into a question
I like delving into my mind, your mind, our mind into obscurity
I dig so deep that I need a remedy
a self-help book that cost 9.95
for living your truest self doesn’t ever come free
Let light lemon drops grace my tongue for I am thirsty
I am hungry to explore what life has for me
I should have built wealth in the womb
and invest my new-born riches to avoid generational poverty
If my people are truly free then show me
I learned long ago one not need eyes to see
Words, sounds, trembles carry different traits to carry the same weight
For even stray cats think they’re free
This is the direction with my life I have sought
People are interesting, filled with emotion, dreams, and thought
This poem here is merely introductory
Be mindful that what you read is not just your thought
for the art of poetry is a form not easily — explained
