The world is on fire
and I struggle
to fan the flames
of self-motivation.

These weary eyes
grow tired everyday
seeing injustice
in the world
and toward myself.

We rally for justice
but it feels
it is just us
to bare all the pain
to bare all the grit
to bare all the responsibility
to fix it all.

The world deems us
not worthy
and yet
we all must die.

When our spirits
return, my people
will not forget.

Mind the venom
you spew into the world —
you might just choke on it.
